If you've ever tried to collect high-quality data at scale, you know it’s a broken, miserable process. Let’s talk about why.
In our previous jobs, Shreyas and I found that running a large-scale survey was always super tedious.
Want to interview 1,000 customers, voters, or consumers? Get ready to:
- Hire an expensive call center
- Coordinate dozens of interviewers
- Wait 6-8 weeks for results
It was a massive pain, but we needed high-quality data.
We did try using online forms, but the fact is this: People talk more than they’re willing to type.
So we asked ourselves a question:
What if running a massive voice interview campaign was as simple as spinning up a Google Form?
This is why Danny, Shreyas, and I built Miravoice.
It’s an AI-powered voice interviewer that can call thousands of people at once. It speaks multiple languages, handles interruptions gracefully, and interprets vague, messy human speech to capture responses.
Folks often think that the only reason to use voice agents is to save money. It’s true that they can be up to 90% cheaper than a call center, but we also think talking to voice AI might make some people feel more comfortable sharing their thoughts in the first place.
We’re already conducting research to understand how real people react to voice AI in survey contexts.
In our recent research presented at AAPOR and MAPOR 2025, real respondents gave the Miravoice interviewer high experience ratings in surveys that were often more than 30 minutes long.
And we’re doing more than just research. We’re bringing the infinite patience, 24/7 availability, and multilingual capabilities of our voice agent to businesses around the world, without a single line of code required.
In recent years, survey research has moved away from voice because the data collection process was too hard and too expensive, but it’s always been the gold standard for rigor. Miravoice is changing that calculus.
